Our Story

Connekt Building & Joinery Ltd was founded in 2022 by Daniel Cousins and Colin Taylor, driven by a shared vision to offer a smarter, more connected building experience for clients throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty.

Daniel began his career in joinery, later moving into boat building, before becoming a qualified builder. Through this diverse background, he saw a gap in the market for a fully integrated service—one that combines expert carpentry with custom joinery and cabinetry, all under one roof. From initial design through to build and installation, ConnektBuild was born as a true one-stop solution for bathrooms, kitchens, renovations, and more.

Colin brought a different but complementary perspective. After a successful career in project management and client relationship management across a range of industries, he became a qualified builder later in life. His experience highlighted how fragmented and impersonal the building process could often be. He believed in a better way—one grounded in clear communication, genuine client engagement, and transparency at every stage.

Together, Daniel and Colin created Connekt Building & Joinery to raise the standard in residential and light commercial construction—delivering high-quality workmanship, reliable project management, and an experience that’s as stress-free as it is professional.
